It is the mission of every member of the Algonac Police Department to provide the highest possible level of service to the citizens of the City of Algonac in a non- discriminatory manner. It is the department’s mission not only to maintain order and control crime, but to reduce the opportunity for crime and disorder, to reduce citizen’s fears, to provide a sense of security for the people by protecting life and property, to protect constitutional rights of all citizens, and to address the root causes of crime through creative problem solving.

Operational Goals
Algonac Police Department’s goals are to continue to improve and increase training within the department to keep pace with community growth. Officers will continue to promote a positive image of the department with citizens and the general public. Algonac Police appreciates that effective policing requires a partnership between the police and the community. In maintaining a partnership, the department recognizes the willingness of residents to share the responsibility for maintenance of order and quality of life. Additionally, we will continue to provide professional leadership and the necessary support required to sustain and improve the community’s efforts to keep a balanced partnership directed against lawlessness and disorderly behavior.
